CMLA application Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
This area of the general discussion board has been set aside to provide further information about the process of accreditation by posting questions from users and answers from CMLA in a public forum. To ask a question of the Moderator or Board of Directors, click "post reply" in this forum. The Moderator will review the question and post an answer typically within 48 hours. Questions and answers of more universal interest will be added to the FAQ tab of the main website periodically, so be sure to check there as well.

When will CMLA start accepting applications?
I see that the date for accepting applications has been postponed. When will CMLA begin accepting new applications?

CMLA began accepting applications in 2008, and the FAQ section of the website has been operational since 2009. Please click the "CMLA" logo in the upper left corner of this window, then click on the blue FAQ tab to see the frequently asked questions section of the website.

Quick question regarding invasive procedures (fine wire emg): if a lab does not include the procedures in any clinical motion studies, what should be reported in the the application?

Good question. Just document in the application material that the lab does not provide any invasive procedures and therefore does not need to respond to questions related to such procedures. Do that at every section that asks you to describe those procedures; just a brief one sentence statement to remind the reviewer not to look for it in the application. Providing invasive procedures such as fine-wire EMG are not required for accreditation.
